    Sunday School Hour (9 am)

    K - 2nd Grade | Desiring God: ABC's Of God

    ABC's Of God
Right thinking about God is essential for the life of faith. Using the alphabet as a framework for teaching the attributes of God, this study explores the delight that God has in Himself as the source, means, and purpose of all things. Each lesson asks and answers three key questions, "Who is God?" "What is He like?" and "How should I act toward Him?" as it presents a theology of God for children. Learn more here.

3rd - 5th Grade | Desiring God: My Purpose Shall Stand

    My Purpose Shall Stand
God is not an idle God. He is continually involved with all created things, directing them to accomplish His eternal purposes. This study teaches children to recognize God's providence in their lives and to joyfully trust His good purposes for them. Each lesson reveals that God is the sovereign ruler of the universe whose eye is watching over all things, and whose hand is working in all things. Learn more here.

    6th - 7th Grade | Heidelberg Catechism

The Puritans used catechisms, creeds, and confessions to disciple their flocks.  A catechism is the process of instructing believers both young and old in the basics of the Christian faith.  The Greek word for "instruct" or "teach" is katecheo from which we get our English word "catechize." Catechisms provide basic summaries of the church’s teachings to ensure that all members of the church understand the essentials of the faith for themselves. Most catechisms generally have questions and answers accompanied by biblical support and explanations.

    8th - 12th Grade | Youth Passage

Passage is an educational ministry designed to embrace the youth of Main Street Church (MSC) wherever they are in their own spiritual development and encourage them through discipleship to follow after their savior, Jesus Christ. Passage meetings are made up of three parts:
    1. Assisting our youth in every stage of spiritual development as they learn how to increasingly love Christ, find joy in suffering unto him, and following him in all aspects of life. 2. Pointing the youth of our world to Christ as the solution to the problems that they perceive both in their lives and in our shared world through aggressive and creative forms of relationship building and critical thinking. 3. Small groups oriented and concerned with the spiritual disciplines of confession (James 5:16), joy in Christ (John 16:22-24), and working in the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 1:5). Small group meetings have two main purposes: 1. To review the focus of that week’s meeting. 2. To deepen relationships with youth that encourage the recognition of sin in their lives, the beauty and joy of Christ as the one who has forgiven them, and the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver them from their sin and work in them the righteousness of Christ.

    Worship Hour (10 am)

Preschool Students | Orange: First Look

First impressions are important. That’s why we designed our First Look curriculum to give preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father. The curriculum keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. First Look also helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time. It encourages children to talk to God any time at any place.
The activities tickle all the senses making mastering the concepts a blast. Crazy fun activities to crafts to large group Bible story and worship time to small group Bible time, it’s all part of the plan to help a child believe three key things by the time he’s five years old:
    - God made me. - God loves me. - Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Elementary Students | Orange: 252 Basics

When you see the word “basics” in the title, well, you sort of think foundational, essential, right? That’s what 252 Basics does—it equips kids from kindergarten through fifth grade with basic truths.
The story of God reveals the character of God. That’s why 252 Basics uses Bible stories to teach core virtues. And to make it easy to understand, each principle is supported by a weekly Bottom Line—a short phrase so easy to remember that it can be reinforced at home throughout the week.  In fact, when a kid transitions into middle school, we want that child to have experienced and own three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52 (light bulb moment—now you know what the 252 means):
    - I need to make the wise choice. - I can trust God no matter what. - I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
These truths are reinforced each week in an easy-to-use curriculum that is designed to put your mind at ease and your heart into overdrive.
We also focus on a core virtue each month. Why virtues? Because they display God’s character. And when we live them out, not only do we understand His heart more, so do the people around us.
On the whole, 252 Basics utilizes Bible stories, a core virtue, and a memory verse each month while offering engaging presentations of the 3 Basic Truths. We also throw in some unforgettable illustrations of how God works in our lives to make us more like Him. To top it off, you receive each month’s virtue song, which can be used during your worship or music time to give the curriculum that added depth. 252 Basics—comprehensive, but simple.
